By WEATHER UNDERGROUND

Several inches of snow are expected in Wisconsin, Illinois and parts of the Ohio Valley Saturday as a low pressure system will trek from the Upper Midwest into the Northwest.

Some areas could see up to a half-foot of snow, while portions of the southern Mid-Atlantic will see a mix of rain and snow.

New York can expect several inches of lake effect snow, while the rest of New England will see gusty winds throughout the day.

The front will also trigger showers from the Lower Mississippi Valley to Alabama and Tennessee, while the rest of the Southeast can expect mostly clear skies.

Another front will bring rain to northern California and into Oregon, with snow in the higher elevations.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Friday ranged from a low of -23 degrees at International Falls, Minn., to a high of 78 degrees at Cotulla, Texas.
