By WEATHER UNDERGROUND – 4 hours ago
Showers were forecast across the Pacific Northwest and Northern California on Saturday and a winter storm warning was issued for parts of Northern California, Utah and Colorado. Mostly sunny skies and cool conditions were expected along the East Coast.
Thunderstorms were possible in the Pacific Northwest, though they weren't predicted to be severe. Severe weather could occur, however, in northern Texas and Oklahoma because of a storm system forecast to trigger showers in the Intermountain West and southern Plains.
In the East, overnight lows were expected to drop near freezing temperatures, causing frost to threaten many areas in the Great Lakes region. Warm, dry conditions were forecast for the Southeast, increasing fire threats across the region.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states on Friday ranged from a low of 21 degrees at Bigfork, Minn., to a high of 97 degrees at El Centro, Calif.
