The Nation's Weather 11.30.08

Rain was forecast along the East Coast on Sunday and the West Coast was expected to be mostly dry, while more snow was likely in the Rockies.

The heaviest rain was forecast for the Southeast and the mid-Atlantic. As the day progresses, the storms were predicted to move into the Great Lakes region and the Northeast. Snow was expected in the upper Mississippi Valley and the Great Lakes, rain was forecast for the Northeast and a mix was likely in northern New England.

High elevation snow was predicted to continue falling in the Rockies but wane during the day. Dry, mild conditions were forecast from the Northwest through California.

The Northeast was expected to rise into the 30s and 40s, while the Southeast was to see temperatures in the 60s and 70s. The upper Midwest was forecast to rise into the 20s and 30s, while the Northwest was to see temperatures in the 40s, 50s and 60s.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states on Saturday ranged from a low of minus 3 degrees at Upson, Wis., to a high of 85 degrees at Death Valley, Calif.
