Snow showers and blistery winds were expected Saturday across New England and parts of the Mid-Atlantic, although the only significant snow accumulation was to be in higher elevations.

Meanwhile, northwestern Pennsylvania, as well as southwestern and central New York, were to continue to see lake effect snow. Up to several inches of snow were expected.

Mostly to partly sunny skies were to prevail across the Ohio Valley down to the Southeast. However, temperatures were to remain cold, with highs in the 50s during the day and below freezing temperatures at night.

The Northern Plains and Upper Midwest were to see some clouds and possibly a few flurries. The rest of the Plains were to be mostly clear during the day, except for parts of central and southern Texas, which were expecting clouds and a few showers.

Rain was expected across the Northwest, with snow likely in the higher elevations. Meanwhile, mild and pleasant conditions was to prevail across the Southwest.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Friday ranged from a low of minus 38 degrees at Alva, Okla., to a high of 84 degrees at Ramona, Calif.
