A wintry storm system hit the Pacific Coast on Saturday, dropping heavy precipitation on Northern California. Snow levels were expected near 6,500 feet in the Sierra Nevadas with more than a foot of new snow.
Flooding was a concern in some poor drainage areas of Central Valley and Southern California.
The rest of the country remained dry with a cold front arching from the Mid-Atlantic states through the Upper Mississippi Valley.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Saturday ranged from a low of 12 degrees at Mt. Washington, N.H., to a high of 93 degrees at Williams, Calif.
