A cold front was to continue bringing stormy weather to areas of the Southeast on Thursday. Light rain showers and slight to moderate thunderstorms were predicted for Florida in the afternoon.
To the north, skies over the Midwest and Northeast were to be fair and mostly dry. Possible rainfall was expected over northern New England in the morning.
To the west, showers and scattered thunderstorms were expected across the Central Rockies while clearer conditions were forecast over much of the Southwest. Storms were likely to spread into northern New Mexico in the early morning, otherwise conditions were to be partly cloudy.
Along the West Coast, cool temperatures was to persist throughout the day. Onshore flow was to produce enhanced fog along the shoreline and partial cloud coverage across inland areas.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states on Wednesday ranged from a low of 23 degrees at Wisdom, Mont., to a high of 110 degrees at Death Valley, Calif.
