Scattered showers and thunderstorms were expected all along the East Coast on Sunday.
Significant showers and thunderstorms were to move from the Great Lakes and Plains to western New England and the Southern Plains. There was a moderate risk of severe weather from Oklahoma through the Ohio Valley, as the storms could spawn dangerous tornadoes. There was a slight risk of severe weather beyond this area into northern Texas and western New York.
Scattered showers were also possible in the Rockies and in the Southwest near the border of Mexico.
The West was to remain dry. The coast was to be cool and inland areas were to stay warm to hot.
Temperatures were to be in the 70s and 80s in the Northeast; 80s and 90s in the Southeast; 90s and 100s in the Southern Plains and Southwest; 70s and 80s in the Northwest; and 60s and 70s in the Northern Plains.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states on Saturday ranged from a low of 28 degrees at Yellowstone, Wyo., to a high of 113 degrees at Yuma, Ariz.
