The Nation's Weather 07.13.08

By WEATHER UNDERGROUND

Thunderstorms were forecast to roll through the eastern United States on Sunday, picking up in the early afternoon. The storms were to be especially heavy on the western slopes of the Appalachians from Pennsylvania down to the Southeast.

Heavy rain and some strong winds were expected along the southeastern coast.

The western U.S. was to continue seeing a few thunderstorms over the Four Corners region, but the intensity of the storms was to diminish somewhat.

Elsewhere, clear skies were anticipated, except for some morning fog in coastal California. The fog will keep areas near beaches cool, but the interior was to warm again.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Saturday ranged from a low of 25 degrees at Stanley, Idaho, to a high of 103 degrees at Wichita Falls, Texas.
